Friday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Viewers, Splits Demos with ABC

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/28/14):

NBC (5.128 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) was the network to beat on Friday with its trio of "Dateline NBC" (6.979 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1), "Grimm" (5.083 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2) and "Constantine" (3.322 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7).

ABC (5.067 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) then shared in the adults 18-49 honors with repeats of "America's Funniest Home Videos" (4.349 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7), "Shark Tank" (5.634 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4) and a new "20/20" (5.217 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2).

Next up was CBS (4.865 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with a new "The Amazing Race" (5.309 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #6) alongside encores of "Frosty the Snowman" (4.656 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4), "Yes, Virginia" (3.636 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9) and "Hawaii Five-0" (5.140 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.807 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up second runs of "MasterChef Junior" (2.217 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9) and "Gotham" (1.398 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12).

And finally, The CW (1.512 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening with its holiday lineup of "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" (1.780 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12), "Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special" (1.220 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T14) and "Merry Madagascar" (1.268 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T14). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.3, 0.3 and 0.4 rating, respectively.

·From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/3 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

·From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (0.9/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

·At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
