Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: Dramas Power CBS to Top Spot in Viewers, Demos

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/14/15):

CBS (12.873 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) pulled into the top spot with new episodes of "NCIS" (15.401 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2), "NCIS: New Orleans" (14.058 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #3) and "Person of Interest" (9.161 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6).

The silver then went to NBC (6.349 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) with originals from "The Voice" (10.391 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1), "Undateable" (5.214 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #5) and "One Big Happy" (3.671 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10) plus a repeat "Chicago Fire" (4.215 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T12).

Next up was ABC (3.436 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) and its quartet of "Fresh Off the Boat" (4.659 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6), "Repeat After Me" (3.076 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #11), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (3.909 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4) and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (2.532 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T12).

Meanwhile, The CW (2.739 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) served up fresh installments from "The Flash" (3.500 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #8) and "iZombie" (1.978 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #14). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former posted a 1.1 rating while the latter delivered a 0.8 rating.

And finally, a new "Hell's Kitchen" (3.518 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #9), a repeat "New Girl" (1.329 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.5, #16) and a new "Weird Loners" (1.430 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #15) on FOX (2.449 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5) closed out the evening.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore) trailed CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/15/14):

NBC (8.420 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) was the demo champ on Tuesday thanks to its mix of "The Voice" (11.599 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.9, #1), "About a Boy" (7.226 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.9, #5), "Growing Up Fisher" (6.084 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #8) and "Chicago Fire" (7.008 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T6).

CBS (14.021 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2) then claimed a close second place with its mainstays "NCIS" (16.735 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T2), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (14.680 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T2) and "Person of Interest" (10.647 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T6).

Next up was ABC (3.831 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) with a repeat of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (3.280 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10) followed by a new "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (5.069 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.0, #4) and the return of "Celebrity Wife Swap" (3.145 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.259 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up originals from "Glee" (2.451 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10), "New Girl" (2.198 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9) and "The Mindy Project" (1.937 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10).

And finally, the return of "The Originals" (1.455 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #15) and "Supernatural" (1.656 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #14) on The CW (1.555 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #5) finished out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Originals" delivered a 0.7 rating while "Supernatural" posted a 0.7 rating.
