ABC Wins Monday in Viewers - DWTS Tops the Night and Castle is the #1 Scripted Show

Monday Night (04/27/15) - ABC Total Viewer and Adult 18-49 Projections

DWTS: L3 = 15.2 mil/2.3 rtg, L7 = 15.6 mil/2.3 rtg and Multiplatform+35 Day = 2.7 rtg

Castle: L3 = 13.1 mil/2.0 rtg, L7 = 14.2 mil/2.2 rtg and Multiplatform+35 Day = 2.6 rtg

ABC Monday Prime (8-11pm - 11.5 million and 1.7/5 in AD18-49): ABC was Monday's most-watched TV network (11.5 million) for the 6th time in 7 weeks and took second in Adults 18-49 (1.7/5), outdelivering CBS (+13% - 1.5/5) and Fox (+21% - 1.4/4) with young adults.

· Dancing was the night's most-watched TV show overall (13.0 million - Monday's top series for the 7th straight week) and the #2 show in Adults 18-49 (2.0/6). ABC's Castle was the night's most-watched scripted TV show (8.5 million).

Dancing with the Stars (8-10pm - 13.0 million and 2.0/6 in AD18-49): From 8-10pm, ABC's Dancing with the Stars outdrew NBC's The Voice by 2.4 million viewers (13.0 million vs. 10.6 million) for the time-slot win and ran a strong 2nd in the 2-hour time period with Adults 18-49 (2.0/6), leading by double digits over CBS (+25% - 1.6/5) and Fox's dramas (+43% - 1.4/4 for Gotham/The Following).

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
