Friday's Broadcast Ratings: "Shark Tank" Finale Powers ABC to Victory

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (5/15/15):

ABC (6.225 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) was the top draw on Friday thanks to the season finales of "Shark Tank" (6.927 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T1) and "Beyond the Tank" (6.251 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T1) plus a new "20/20" (5.497 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3).

The silver then went to NBC (5.180 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) with the season finale of "Grimm" (4.740 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3) and a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (5.400 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #6).

Next up was CBS (5.201 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with the season finale of "The Amazing Race" (5.665 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) and a two-hour "ACM Presents: Superstar Duets" (4.970 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #7).

Next up was FOX (1.476 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) with the feature "Scream 2" (1.476 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #8).

And finally, a new "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.405 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9), a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.450 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9) and a new "The Messengers" (1.026 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9) on The CW (1.227 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.3, 0.2 and 0.2 rating, respectively.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/4 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden " (1.6/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show with James Corden" (0.4/3).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (5/16/14):

ABC (8.380 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) was the network to beat on Friday thanks to the season finale of "Shark Tank" (6.491 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) and the two-hour special "Barbara Walters: Her Story" (9.324 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1).

NBC (4.909 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then claimed the silver with its mix of "Dateline NBC" (6.861 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T3), the season finale of "Grimm" (5.390 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T3) and a new "Hannibal" (2.475 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5).

Next up was CBS (6.074 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) and repeats of "Hawaii Five-0" (5.322 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8), another "Hawaii Five-0" (6.020 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8) and "Blue Bloods" (6.881 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #7).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.010 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) served up an encore of "24: Live Another Day" (1.623 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12) and the season finale of "Kitchen Nightmares" (2.397 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5).

And finally, The CW (1.335 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the evening with a new "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.777 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #10), a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.537 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #11) and the season finale of "Hart of Dixie" (1.012 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12).
