ABC's 500 Questions Finale is Up to a 2-Year High in the Summer Time Slot

500 Questions (8-10pm - 5.0 million and 1.1/4 in AD18-49): From 8-10pm, the season finale of ABC's 500 Questions built over the prior night in Total Viewers (+2% - 5.0 million vs. 4.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (+10% - 1.1/4 vs. 1.0/4), matching the new show's 2nd-highest young adult number. In addition, the show shot up 75% night to night in Teens 12-17 to equal a series best. 500 Questions was also up over its week-ago Thursday airing in viewers (+9%) and young adults (+10%). The ABC unscripted show built 20% from its first half-hour to its final half-hour in Adults 18-49, ranking as the #1 broadcast show from 9:30-10pm (1.2/4-tied w/Wayward Pines). In addition, 500 Questions outdelivered NBC's 2-hour Aquarius debut on the night in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4 vs. 1.0/4 from 9-11pm).

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
