ABC's Bachelor in Paradise is Up for the 2nd Straight Sunday - Boston Trauma Grows Week to Week

Bachelor in Paradise (8-10pm - 4.0 million and 1.3/4 in AD18-49): Opposite original competition from CBS' Big Brother, Fox's 2015 Teen Choice Awards and NBC's Ed Sheeran special, ABC's Bachelor in Paradise was up for the 2nd straight Sunday in Total Viewers (+5% - 4.0 million vs. 3.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (+8% - 1.3/4 vs. 1.2/4) hitting a high on the night. The ABC unscripted series shot up 63% over its Adult 18-49 lead-in at 8pm and built from its first hour to its second hour (+8%) to rank #1 from 9-10pm. In addition, the show ranked #1 in its 2-hour slot with Adults 18-34 and across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54), while tying Big Brother as Sunday's #1 program in Women 18-34.

· Bachelor in Paradise once again improved its 2-hour time period by double digits year to year for ABC, spiking 63% in Adults 18-49 from the year-ago night with original programming (Wipeout/Rising Star = 0.8/3 on 8/17/14).

· After 3 days of TV playback, last Sunday's telecast of Bachelor in Paradise grew to a 1.8 rating among Adults 18-49 (from a 1.2 rating in L+SD), topping its week-earlier premiere by 13%. The +50% jump for Bachelor in Paradise matches the largest L+3 playback increase for any unscripted broadcast series telecast so far this summer.

Save My Life: Boston Trauma (10-11pm - 3.3 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49): At 10pm, Save My Life: Boston Trauma was up week to week in Total Viewers (+3% - 3.3 million vs. 3.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+17% - 0.7/2 vs. 0.6/2) and Adults 25-54 (+13% - 0.9/3 vs. 0.8/2).

In the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Save My Life: Boston Trauma" grew week to week in Total Viewers (+3% - 3.3 million vs. 3.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+17% - 0.7/2 vs. 0.6/2) and Adults 25-54 (+13% - 0.9/3 vs. 0.8/2).

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
