Monday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Demos with "American Ninja Warrior"

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (9/7/15):

NBC (5.047 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) was the demo champ on Labor Day with a new "American Ninja Warrior" (6.081 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) and the season finale of "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" (2.977 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5).

ABC (4.269 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) then claimed the silver with a repeat "Shark Tank" (4.077 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) followed by the season finales of "Bachelor in Paradise" (4.801 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) and "After Paradise" (3.929 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4).

Next up was CBS (5.234 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) and its combination of "The Big Bang Theory" (6.397 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3), "CBS Fall Preview" (4.970 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5), "Scorpion" (4.706 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9) and "NCIS: Los Angeles" (5.312 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.554 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) served up the penultimate week of "So You Think You Can Dance" (2.554 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9).

And finally, second runs of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (1.423 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11), "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.199 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #12) and "Significant Mother" (0.682 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #13) on The CW (1.181 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.3, 0.3 and a 0.2 rating, respectively.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4 with an encore; "CBS Summer Showcase," 0.3/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.3/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.5/2 with an encore in metered-market households and a 0.2/1 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (9/8/14):

FOX (5.421 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) was the demo champ on Monday thanks to a new "MasterChef" (5.314 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T2) followed by a second "MasterChef" (5.528 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1).

ABC (5.669 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2) then was the most-watched network with the season finale of "Bachelor in Paradise" (6.682 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T2) and a repeat of "Shark Tank" (3.644 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).

Next up was NBC (4.767 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2) with the season finale of "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" (3.832 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #8) alongside a new "American Ninja Warrior" (5.235 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #4).

Meanwhile, CBS (5.568 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) served up repeats of "The Big Bang Theory" (5.776 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6), "Mom" (5.190 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6), "Two and a Half Men" (4.821 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9), another "Two and a Half Men" (4.529 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) and a new "Under the Dome" (6.546 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #5).
