Opening Weeks of 2015 NFL Season Power ESPN Digital to Its Two Best Days Ever

The 2015 NFL season continues to drive record traffic across ESPN Digital platforms, logging its second best day ever on Sunday, Sept. 20 (behind last Sunday, Sept. 13) with an average minute audience of 1,200,000 people across platforms, up 23 percent compared to last year's Week 2 Sunday. Specifically, 47 percent of time spent with ESPN Digital properties on Sunday was with the ESPN Fantasy Football app, which attracted 7,100,000 unique visitors and an average minute audience of 559,000 - up 31 percent and 53 percent, respectively, compared to the previous year.

Additionally, ESPN.com, ESPN apps and WatchESPN across platforms logged 40,400,000 unique visitors on Sunday, up three percent. NFL content specifically across digital platforms peaked at an average of 3,170,000 users during the average minute. Of Sunday's total NFL audience on digital platforms, 84 percent came from mobile devices.

The Jets-Colts game logged the third highest audience ever for MNF on WatchESPN - behind last week's Vikings-49ers (229,000) and Eagles-Falcons (215,000) doubleheader - with an average minute audience of 202,000, up 48 percent compared to last year's Week 2 MNF game. It also had 611,000 unique viewers watching 40,800,000 live minutes - up 61 percent and 51 percent, respectively.

This Week on MNF: Chiefs vs. Aaron Rodgers and Packers at Lambeau Field in Super Bowl I Rematch

This week, ESPN's MNF returns with Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs traveling to Green Bay to face Aaron Rodgers and the Packers at historic Lambeau Field at 8:15 p.m. ET (kickoff at 8:30 p.m.). During the NFL's year-long celebration of the Super Bowl to commemorate Super Bowl 50, Chief-Packers is a rematch of the inaugural game in 1967, which the Packers won 35-10.
