"EMPIRE" SEASON 2 PREMIERE AUDIENCE HITS 22.5 MILLION IN FIRST THREE DAYS
We now have 3-day data for our Wednesday premieres and the news is great: According to Nielsen's Live +3s, the Season 2 premiere of EMPIRE drew an 8.7/27 rating among Adults 18-49, up +4% from its Season 2 finale (8.4/27) and up +64% from its Season 1 premiere (5.5/15).
With all available data, including streaming on Hulu and Fox.com, the EMPIRE Season 2 premiere rolled up to 22.5 million viewers after 3 days - up +39% from its same day multi-platform audience (16.2 mil). And 2.9 million of the EMPIRE premiere's three-day audience came from VOD and streaming on FOX NOW and Hulu, further underscoring why it's important to put more emphasis on the full picture of multi-platform viewing.
EMPIRE's Season 1 premiere also broke social records - it is the most tweeted scripted hour on broadcast EVER (Source: Nielsen) and those tweets have been seen 73 million times over the first three days.
The series premiere of ROSEWOOD also delivered good news, growing to a 2.8/10 with 9.0 million viewers in Nielsen's ratings. With all data across platforms (TV premiere/DVR playback/VOD/Hulu/FOXNOW), the premiere rolled up to 9.2 million -- up +22% versus Live+SD (9.2 vs. 7.5 Mil)
