L+7 Ratings: ABC's Quantico Catapults +113% in Playback, Becoming the First Broadcast Program This Season to More than Double its L+SD AD18-49 Rating

Live + 7 Day ratings for the week of 10/5/15 (Week #3):

During the third week of the new TV season, ABC solidified its claim as the #1 network in Nielsen's non-sports Adult 18-49 averages (2.5 rating), holding double-digit advantages over CBS (+14% - 2.2), NBC (+19% - 2.1) and Fox (+19% - 2.1). Gaining +0.9 rating points over its Live + Same Day Adult 18-49 rating (1.6 rating in L+SD to a 2.5 in L+7) in the non-sports averages, ABC was the week's biggest gainer in TV playback for the 2nd straight week among young adults.

With 5 of the week's Top 10 biggest gainers in TV playback among Adults 18-49, ABC claimed the most for any network for the 2nd week running, as each program added on at least +1.5 rating points to their L+SD ratings: Modern Family (+1.9 rating points) - #3, Quantico (+1.8) - #5, Scandal (+1.6) - #6, with Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder (+1.5) tied for #7. ABC claimed the Top 3 gainers on Thursday with its TGIT dramas, the #1 gainer on Tuesday with Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.2 rating points) and the Top 2 broadcast gainers on Sunday with Quantico (+1.8) and Once Upon a Time (+1.1).

Skyrocketing +113% among Adults 18-49 after 7 days of TV playback, ABC's Quantico was the first broadcast program this season to more than double its L+SD rating (growing from a 1.6 in L+SD to a 3.4 in L+7) and delivered the biggest percentage increase for any single telecast on any broadcast network this season. Nashville also delivered triple-digit playback growth over its L+SD number (+100%) giving ABC the season's Top 2 percentage gainers on the broadcast networks among young adults. Both Quantico and Nashville (tie) scored their biggest-ever L+7 playback lifts.

Growing to a 2.6 rating among Adults 18-49, Fresh Off the Boat increased its week-to-week growth to 2-tenths of a rating point in the L+7 numbers (versus 1-tenth in L+SD) to match this season's premiere as its 2nd-highest-rated telecast ever, behind only its series debut in February. On Wednesday, The Middle matched its largest-ever playback increase, with a +0.9 rating jump over its L+SD Adult 18-49 number. The Middle grew to a 2.9 rating after 7 days of TV playback, matching the prior week (and coming within 1-tenth of this season's premiere) as its 2nd-highest-rated L+7 telecast in over 2 years - since 9/25/13. And on Friday, Last Man Standing soared to a 1.9 L+7 rating, up 6% over the prior week among Adults 18-49 to a new season high and matching its top-rated telecast since February - since 2/20/15.

Season-to-Date TV Playback (9/21/15-10/11/15):

Based on TV playback data for the first 3 weeks of the 2015-16 season, ABC claims 6 of the Top 10 biggest broadcast gainers among Adults 18-49, more than CBS (2), NBC (2) and Fox (1) combined: Modern Family (+2.0 rating points) - #3, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder and Quantico (+1.7) tie for #5, Grey's Anatomy (+1.6) - #8 and black-ish (+1.3) - #10.

Among Adults 18-49 in the L+7 ratings, ABC has 3 of the Top 4 shows on Wednesday with Modern Family (5.0 rating), The Goldbergs (3.4) and black-ish (3.3), the Top 3 series on Thursday with Scandal (4.6), HTGAWM (4.1) and Grey's Anatomy (4.1), the #1 show on Friday with Shark Tank (2.3) and the Top 2 broadcast series on Sunday with Quantico (3.5) and Once Upon a Time (2.8).

Nearly all of ABC's returning series are seeing bigger percentage gains among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: black-ish (+65% vs. +46%), Castle (+75% vs. +50%), The Goldbergs (+48% vs. +39%), Grey's Anatomy (+64% vs. +56%), HTGAWM (+71% vs. +68%), Last Man Standing (+50% vs. +46%), The Middle (+38% vs. +35%), Modern Family (+67% vs. +61%), Nashville (+91% vs. +71%), Once Upon a Time (+65% vs. +39%), Scandal (+59% vs. +47%) and Shark Tank (+44% vs. +32%).
