"48 HOURS: THE HUNTER" WAS SATURDAY'S # 1 PROGRAM WITH VIEWERS AND THE NIGHT'S #1 NON-SPORTS PROGRAM WITH ADULTS 25-54

48 HOURS: "The Hunter" was Saturday's #1 program with viewers and the night's #1 non-sports broadcast with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Oct. 24. The broadcast added nearly +850,000 viewers from the previous week.

48 HOURS (10:00-11:00 PM) was #1 with viewers, delivering a season best, 5.61 million viewers, and matched a season best 1.4/04 with adults 25-54. Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS was up +17% in adults 25-54 and +10% in viewers.

Saturday's broadcast featured Troy Roberts and 48 HOURS's investigation into the disappearance and murder of Army combat medic Kelli Bordeaux and the unconventional hunt for her killer. Bordeaux, 23, was waiting to be deployed from Fort Bragg, N.C. But one Friday night in April 2012, she went out to a local bar in Fayetteville and never returned home. The disappearance caught the attention of a local bounty hunter, David Marshburn, who decided on his own to search for the missing woman.

Police, led by Detective Jeff Locklear of the Fayetteville Police Department, had a handful of suspects, but focused on Nicholas Holbert, who was last seen with Kelli. Marshburn, based on instinct alone, was convinced Holbert was responsible after seeing him in a TV interview, and later befriended him. At first, Marshburn worked the case in secret, before telling Locklear what he was doing. Eventually, Marshburn convinced Holbert to lead him to Bordeaux's body. Police arrived at the scene within minutes. In an amazing video recorded by a police body camera, Holbert confessed to Kelli's murder.

48 HOURS: "The Hunter" is produced by Marc Goldbaum, Paul LaRosa and Jonathan Leach. Gregory F. McLaughlin, Doreen Schechter, Phil Tangel, David Spungen, Marcus Balsam and Michael Vele are the editors. Anthony Batson is the senior broadcast producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
