"The Tonight Show" Outperforms "Late Show" by Biggest Margin to Date in 18-49 Demo

Fallon Handily Wins the Week of Nov. 2-6, While "Late Night" Narrows Gap to Smallest To Date Versus Colbert,"Last Call" Tops "Late Late Show" Despite Later Start Times

NEW YORK - Nov. 12, 2015 - "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" has won the late-night ratings week of Nov. 2-6, outrating CBS's "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" by a +60% margin in adults 18-49, the biggest advantage to date for Fallon versus Colbert.

For the week, Fallon scored a 0.91 rating in 18-49 while Colbert averaged a 0.57.

It's the third week in a row (excluding a week of Colbert encores) that Fallon has delivered biggest-yet margins versus "The Late Show."

In the prior seven weeks since Colbert debuted, Fallon's margins in 18-49 have been +28% for the week of Sept. 7-11, +38% for Sept. 14-18, +35% for Sept. 21-25, +41% for Sept. 28-Oct. 2, +38% for Oct. 5-9, +56% for Oct. 12-16, +54% for the encore week of Oct. 19-23 and +59% for Oct. 26-30.

For the week of Nov. 2-6, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" pulled within 0.05 of a rating point of "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" in 18-49 (0.52 vs. 0.57) and within 0.08 of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (0.52 vs. 0.60), despite starting an hour later. It's the narrowest gap to date between Meyers and Colbert, with the prior smallest margin being 0.13 during the week of Oct. 12-16 (0.46 vs. 0.59).

For the week, Meyers' hit five-week highs in 18-49 (0.52) and total viewers (1.652 million), with his best results since Sept. 28-Oct. 2 (0.55 in 18-49, 1.795 million viewers overall).

In adults 18-49 at 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" (0.34) decisively outrated CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden" (0.30), despite starting an hour later, and also topped cable's "Conan" (0.26), "Daily Show" (0.27) and "Nightly Show" (0.18).

Daly's 0.34 in 18-49 is a six-week high (strongest since Sept. 21-25, 0.35) and his 976,000 viewers overall is a five-week high (best since Sept. 28-Oct. 2, 996,000).
