Live+3: ABC Series Post Week-to-Week Gains on Each Night of the Week

Live + 3 Day data for the week of 11/16/15 (week #9)

Please note: Most of ABC's regular Sunday line-up was pre-empted for the AMAs.

On Monday, Castle delivered an all-time playback high among Adults 18-49, with a +73% jump over its L+SD rating. Castle shot up to a 1.9 rating in Adults 18-49 after 3 days of TV playback, growing +12% week to week to match its highest-rated L+3 telecast this season.

Growing to a 2.2 rating in Adults 18-49 after 3 days of TV playback, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended up over its week-earlier L+3 rating by 5% and moved ahead of CBS' NCIS: New Orleans (2.1 rating) to lead by 5% in the 9pm hour. With a +69% jump over its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating, S.H.I.E.L.D. posted a new playback season high and was Tuesday's biggest gainer in TV playback on the broadcast networks.

On Wednesday, The Middle (2.7 rating) and The Goldbergs (3.1 rating) grew over their week-earlier telecasts to match their highest L+3 numbers since their season premieres 8 weeks ago - since 9/23/15, while Modern Family (4.3 rating) grew for the 2nd straight week to hit a 7-week high - since 9/30/15.

Nashville matched the prior week's playback as its biggest of the season in Adults 18-49, with an +80% jump over its L+SD rating. Holding at a 1.8 rating for its 7th straight L+3 telecast, Nashville moved ahead of CBS' Code Black (1.7 rating) in Wednesday's 10pm hour to lead by 6% among young adults (after trailing by -17% in L+SD).

On Thursday, Scandal grew to a 3.8 rating in Adults 18-49 after 3 days of TV playback, increasing its week to week growth in the L+3 numbers to 3-tenths of a rating point (3.8 rating vs. 3.5 rating) compared to a 2-tenths gain in L+SD and hitting a 5-week high - since 10/15/15.

After holding even with its week-earlier L+SD rating, Dr. Ken ended up growing week to week by 7% in the L+3 numbers (1.6 rating vs. 1.5 rating).

Season-to-Date TV Playback (9/21/15-11/22/15):

Based on L+3 ratings through nine weeks of the 2015-16 season, ABC grows to a 2.3 rating among Adults 18-49 in Nielsen's non-sports averages, ranking #1 by 5% over NBC (2.2), by 10% over CBS (2.1) and by 15% over Fox (2.0).

Based on TV playback data, ABC's Quantico nearly doubles its L+SD rating (+93%) to stand as the season's largest gainer in playback for any program on the broadcast networks among Adults 18-49 and the largest among freshman programs. The new ABC drama is also the #1 gainer on the broadcast networks in Total Viewers this season on a percentage basis, growing by +71% after just 3 days of TV playback.
