Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Little Big Shots" Opens Big for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (3/8/16):

NBC (13.172 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.0, #1) overshadowed the competition on Tuesday with a new two-hour "The Voice" (13.427 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1) and the special premiere of "Little Big Shots" (12.664 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.9, #2).

CBS (7.289 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) then took home the silver with repeats of "NCIS: New Orleans" (8.368 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "NCIS" (8.079 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5) and a new "Limitless" (5.419 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9).

Next up was ABC (3.767 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) and its new Tuesday lineup of "Fresh Off the Boat" (4.925 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3), "The Real O'Neals" (4.009 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (3.514 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5) and "Of Kings and Prophets" (3.322 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.836 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up originals from "New Girl" (2.679 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) and "Grandfathered" (1.962 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) plus repeats of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.428 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #12) and "The Grinder" (1.273 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #13).

And finally, repeats of "The Flash" (1.198 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #14) and "iZombie" (0.744 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) on The CW (0.971 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/5 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show" (0.9/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (3/10/15):

NBC (11.689 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1) was the demo champ on Tuesday thanks to a special two-hour "The Voice" (13.255 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.6, #1) and a new "Chicago Fire" (8.557 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T2).

CBS (12.158 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) then claimed the silver with its trio of "NCIS" (15.722 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T2) - tying its series low, "NCIS: New Orleans" (12.251 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4) - also a low - and "Person of Interest" (8.501 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6).

Next up was ABC (3.679 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) and its original lineup of "Fresh Off the Boat" (5.064 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #5), "Repeat After Me" (3.497 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (3.733 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6) - its series low - and "Forever" (3.024 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #11).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.547 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) served up a new "Hell's Kitchen" (3.451 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #8), a repeat "New Girl" (1.496 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #12) and a new "The Mindy Project" (1.793 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #10).

And finally, repeats of "The Flash" (1.310 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13) and "Supernatural" (0.786 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #14) on The CW (1.048 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former posted a 0.4 rating while the latter delivered a 0.3 rating.
