NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC Wins the Night Again in Key Demos

· Golden State-San Antonio Averages Nearly 5.2 Million Viewers, Peaks with 7.1 Million Viewers

· Second-Most Watched NBA Regular-Season Game Since 2013 (Non-Christmas)

· First Year of NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC Franchise Propels Double-Digit Viewership Increase for the NBA on ABC

The March 19 edition of NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC - the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Golden State Warriors 87-79 - won the night in key demos amidst significant competition. The Golden State-San Antonio telecast propelled ABC to win the night on Saturday across P18-34, M18-34 and M18-49, according to Nielsen.

The telecast generated nearly 5.2 million viewers (5,171,000, p2+) and a 3.1 U.S. household rating. It peaked with 7,101,000 viewers from 10:45-11 p.m. ET. This is the second-most watched and second-highest rated NBA regular-season game (non-Christmas) in more than three years, since February 2013.

In the first season of the NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC franchise, the NBA on ABC is up 11 percent in viewership (4,189,000 vs. 3,787,000 viewers) and nine percent in U.S. household rating (2.5 vs. 2.3), compared to last season (through 14 games).

NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC continues with its season finale on April 9, when the Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Chicago Bulls at 8:30 p.m. Mike Breen, analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson and reporter Doris Burke will provide commentary. NBA Countdown will precede the game at 8 p.m. with Sage Steele, Doug Collins and Jalen Rose.

The NBA Sunday Showcase on ABC will continue on April 3, as the Oklahoma City Thunder visit the Houston Rockets at 3:30 p.m. Breen, Van Gundy and Jackson will call the game with reporter Lisa Salters. NBA Countdown precedes the game at 3 p.m. with Steele, Collins and Rose.
