25th Anniversary Season of Dateline Claims Biggest November Sweep Demo Wins in 10 Years

Dateline Posts Biggest November Sweep Total Viewer Win over ABC in Two Years

NEW YORK - November 30, 2016 - "Dateline NBC" ranked #1 among newsmagazines in its Friday night slot in every key demo for the November 2016 sweep period, averaging 4.76 million total viewers, leading ABC's "20/20" by +631,000 (15%). This represented Dateline's biggest total viewer win over ABC in a sweep period in two years. Dateline also grew across the board in every key demo. Versus November 2015 sweeps, Dateline was up in total viewers (+837,000 or 21%), A25-54 viewers (+130,000 or 8%) and A18-49 viewers (+79,000 or 7%).

Dateline Friday also won the demos for the November 2016 period, claiming its largest A25-54 and A18-49 sweep advantages in 10 years. Dateline averaged 1.7 million A25-54 viewers, leading ABC by +287,000 (+20%). Among A18-49, Dateline averaged 1.26 million viewers, topping ABC by +232,000 (+23%). Dateline's Friday night wins among A25-54 and A18-49 are its first November sweep victories in those demos in five years.

Dateline was also one of four NBC News broadcasts to finish the recent November sweep period ranked #1 among the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos, joining "Nightly News with Lester Holt," "TODAY" and "Meet the Press." It's the first time all four NBC News broadcasts accomplished the feat since 2002.

Currently in its 25th anniversary season, Dateline is airing all-new, two-hour episodes on Friday nights.

November Sweeps Highlights:

· Dateline Friday averaged 4.762 million total viewers, leadings "20/20" by +631,000 (15%), the highest advantage in any sweep since November 2014.

· This represented Dateline's biggest sweep total viewer win over ABC in two years.

· Dateline Friday also won in A25-54 and A18-49 for the November 2016 sweep period, claiming the largest A25-54 and A18-49 sweep advantages in 10 years.

· Dateline averaged 1.69 million A25-54 viewers, leading ABC by +287,000 (+20%).

· Among A18-49, Dateline averaged 1.26 million viewers, topping ABC by +232,000 (+23%).
