Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "America's Got Talent" Returns on Top for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (5/30/17):

NBC (11.294 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1) rose to the top spot on Tuesday with the season premiere of "America's Got Talent" (12.068 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) followed by the launch of "World of Dance" (9.746 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2).

CBS (5.975 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2) then was a distant second with its mix of "NCIS" (7.227 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4), "Bull" (6.367 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) and "48 Hours: NCIS" (4.331 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10).

Sharing the silver was FOX (2.204 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2) with a repeat "Lethal Weapon" (2.067 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10) alongside the season finale of "Prison Break" (2.342 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3).

Next up was ABC (2.472 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) and its mix of "Downward Dog" (3.770 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #6), "The Middle" (2.736 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7), "American Housewife" (2.424 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7), "Imaginary Mary" (2.163 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7), another "American Housewife" (1.926 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12) and "Black-ish" (1.815 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12).

And finally, a repeat "The Flash" (0.836 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #15) and a new "iZombie" (0.901 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #14) rounded out the night on The CW (0.868 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.1/6 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.8/5 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.8/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (5/31/16):

NBC (9.822 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) was of course the network to beat on Tuesday with the return of "America's Got Talent" (11.547 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1) and the premiere of "Maya & Marty" (6.373 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2).

CBS (6.987 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) then was the number two draw with its mix of "NCIS" (7.404 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5), "NCIS: New Orleans" (6.956 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) and a new "Person of Interest" (6.601 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3).

Next up was ABC (3.571 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with another two-hour "500 Questions" (4.207 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5) followed by a repeat "Fresh Off the Boat" (2.364 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8) and a second "Fresh Off the Boat" (2.232 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.933 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up originals from "Hotel Hell" (2.408 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #7) and "Coupled" (1.458 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10).

And finally, a repeat "The Flash" (1.107 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) and a new "Containment" (1.114 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) on The CW (1.110 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the night.
