Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: FOX Tops Demos, NBC Leads Total Viewers

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/21/17):

FOX (2.715 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) inched past the competition on Wednesday with fresh installments from "MasterChef" (3.237 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) and "The F Word with Gordon Ramsay" (2.193 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4).

NBC (4.291 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) then was a close second with the premiere of "Little Big Shots: Forever Young" (7.418 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) followed by a new "The Carmichael Show" (3.966 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) and repeats of "The Carmichael Show" (2.846 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8) and "This Is Us" (2.050 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #14).

Next up was CBS (3.592 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) and repeats of "Undercover Boss" (3.121 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12), "Criminal Minds" (3.857 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8) and "Code Black" (3.799 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.834 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) offered up second runs of "The Goldbergs" (3.045 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4), "Speechless" (2.483 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8), "Modern Family" (3.057 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4) and "American Housewife" (2.650 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4) plus the return of "To Tell the Truth" (2.885 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8).

And finally, rebroadcasts of "Arrow" (0.634 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T15) and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (0.689 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T15) rounded out the night on The CW (0.661 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/22/16):

CBS (5.271 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) surged to the top spot on Wednesday with the two-hour season premiere of "Big Brother 18" (6.144 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) alongside the launch of "American Gothic" (3.527 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T10).

NBC (3.795 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then had to settle for second place with an encore of "American Ninja Warrior" (3.562 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) and a new "The Night Shift" (4.261 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4).

Next up was FOX (3.043 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with fresh installments from "MasterChef" (3.728 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) and "Wayward Pines" (2.359 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T10).
