Discovery Channel Ratings Soar in October with Year-Over-Year Growth in Key Demos

DISCOVERY CHANNEL RATINGS SOAR IN OCTOBER WITH YEAR-OVER-YEAR GROWTH IN KEY DEMOS

(Los Angeles) - Discovery Channel continued to dominate ratings in October, claiming cable's #1 unscripted series in M25-54 and M18-49 across four nights of the week and owning more top 10 unscripted cable series than any other network across M25-54, M18-49 and M18-34. Discovery's top-rated series GOLD RUSH was Friday's #1 series on all of TV - topping broadcast among M25-54, M18-49 and M18-34. The network's cable ranks held steady or improved over last October across nearly all key measures, with M25-54 moving up an impressive four spots to enter the top 5 (#4).

The network continued its 2017 ratings streak owning nine of the top 10 unscripted cable series, more than any other cable network among M25-54 (#1 GOLD RUSH, #2 STREET OUTLAWS, #4 FAST n' LOUD, #5 DEADLIEST CATCH, #6 DIESEL BROTHERS, #7 ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE, #8 MOONSHINERS, #9 NAKED AND AFRAID XL AND #10 GOLD RUSH: PARKER'S TRAIL).

Discovery is pacing towards its 3rd straight year as cable's #1 network in M25-54 (excl. sports) and GOLD RUSH is pacing as the #1 unscripted series on all of cable across P/M 25-54, M18-49 and P2+. The network is also enjoying its highest-rated year ever on Wednesdays across P/W25-54 and W18-49 and pacing towards its 2nd highest-rated year ever on Mondays across all 25-54 demos. GOLD RUSH: PARKER'S TRAIL is pacing as 2017's #1 new unscripted cable series among M25-54.
