Friday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Demos on Low Key Evening

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/10/18):

NBC (2.645 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #1) was the network to beat on a low key Friday with an encore of "American Ninja Warrior" (2.615 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T1) and a new "Dateline NBC" (2.704 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T4).

CBS (3.281 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T2) then was the most-watched broadcaster with new episodes from "TKO: Total Knock Out" (3.164 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T1) and "Whistleblower" (2.763 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7) plus a repeat "Blue Bloods" (3.917 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7).

Next up was ABC (2.602 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T2) and its mix of "Fresh Off the Boat" (2.297 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7), "Speechless" (1.684 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11), "What Would You Do?" (2.699 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T4) and "20/20" (3.116 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T1).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.807 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4) served up repeats of "The Resident" (2.093 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T4) and "The Orville" (1.522 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11).

And finally, a new "Masters of Illusion" (1.392 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11) alongside repeats of "Masters of Illusion" (1.389 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11) and "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (1.350 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7) on The CW (1.370 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4) rounded out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/2 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.8/3 with an encore delayed by a PGA Golf report. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore delayed by a PGA Golf report.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.5/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.1/1 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (8/11/17):

CBS (4.560 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) was a close second with repeats of "MacGyver" (4.841 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) and "Blue Bloods" (5.203 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) plus the "CBS News Special: Son of Sam - The Killer Speaks" (3.635 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3).

Next up was ABC (3.464 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) with its mix of "Shark Tank" (3.448 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3), "Primetime: What Would You Do?" (3.136 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #8) and "20/20" (3.809 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.602 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) served up encores of "MasterChef" (1.615 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9) and "Beat Shazam" (1.590 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9).
