Friday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Wins Demo Race; CBS Tops Viewers

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (9/6/19):

NBC (3.006 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #1) was the demo champ on Friday with its telecasts of "American Ninja Warrior" (2.853 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T1) and "Dateline NBC" (3.313 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T1).

CBS (3.929 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T2) then was the most-watched broadcaster with its trio of "Hawaii Five-0" (4.004 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4), "Magnum P.I." (3.801 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4) and "Blue Bloods" (3.981 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4).

Next up was ABC (2.594 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T2) and its combination of "American Housewife" (2.269 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4), "Fresh Off the Boat" (1.617 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9), "What Would You Do?" (2.459 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4) and "20/20" (3.380 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #3).

Meanwhile, FOX (0.994 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.3, #4) offered up encores of "BH90210" (1.024 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9) and "MasterChef" (0.963 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9).

And finally, repeats of "Masters of Illusion" (1.103 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T9), "The Big Stage" (0.895 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) and "Hypnotize Me" (0.867 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) on The CW (0.933 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.2/2 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (9/7/18):

NBC (3.603 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.6, #1) claimed top honors on Friday with its coverage of "Stand Up to Cancer" (2.066 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) and a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (4.371 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #1).

ABC (2.633 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #2) then was a close second with its mix of "Stand Up to Cancer" (2.068 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T6), "What Would You Do?" (2.402 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) and the season premiere of "20/20" (3.429 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #2).

Next up was CBS (2.251 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.3, #3) and its lineup of "Stand Up to Cancer" (2.025 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T6), "TKO: Total Knock Out" (1.620 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) and a repeat "Blue Bloods" (3.108 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T6).
