ABC News' "Nightline" Ranks No. 1 Across All Key Target Demographics
Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+8% - 901,000 vs. 831,000) and Adults 18-49 (+3% - 157,000 vs. 152,000).

'Nightline' Takes the Top Spot in Total Viewers for the 3rd Week in a Row

'Nightline' Sees Across-the-Board Gains Year to Year

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (+843,000), Adults 25-54 (+214,000) and Adults 18-49 (+159,000) during the week of Dec. 12, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. In addition, "Nightline" took the top spot in Total Viewers for the 3rd week in a row.

"Nightline" posted gains on the previous week in Adults 25-54 (+8% - 214,000 vs. 198,000) and Adults 18-49 (+14% - 159,000 vs. 139,000), hitting 11-week highs in both measures - since w/o 9/26/22.

"Nightline" saw across-the-board gains year to year: Total Viewers (+7% - 843,000 vs. 789,000), Adults 25-54 (+3% - 214,000 vs. 208,000) and Adults 18-49 (+5% - 159,000 vs. 151,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+8% - 901,000 vs. 831,000) and Adults 18-49 (+3% - 157,000 vs. 152,000). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos.

This week, "Nightline" covered FTX's Sam Bankman-Fried arrest in the Bahamas; the Adult Survivors Act; Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new docu-series; ABC News Studios' new docu-series "Grails: When Sneakers Change the Game"; the Broadway musical "Ain't No Mo"; the death of Stephen "tWitch" Boss; ABC's "Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration"; Everytown Survivor Network; "Avatar: The Way of Water"; the "Narco slaves" working in illegal pot farms; and Audra McDonald's return to Broadway.

NOTE: On Friday (12/16/22), CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "Late Late Show-JC-ENC" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM" due to being repeats. The retitled telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. CBS and NBC weekly averages are based on three days (Monday-Thursday).
