ABC News' "Nightline" Ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers for 5th Consecutive Week

ABC NEWS' 'NIGHTLINE' RANKS NO. 1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS FOR 5TH CONSECUTIVE WEEK

'Nightline' Grows Year to Year Across the Board for 3rd Week in a Row

'Nightline' Leads CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' in All Key Target Demos

Season to Date, 'Nightline' Is Up in All Key Demos

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (+721,000) for the 5th consecutive week during the week of Dec. 26, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" also beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49.

For the 3rd week running, "Nightline" saw increases on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (+3% - 721,000 vs. 697,000), Adults 25-54 (+14% - 182,000 vs. 160,000) and Adults 18-49 (+4% - 129,000 vs. 124,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers(+7% - 895,000 vs. 834,000), Adults 25-54 (+1% - 223,000 vs. 221,000) and Adults 18-49 (+3% - 159,000 vs. 155,000). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos.

This week Nightline covered the death of iconic, trailblazing journalist Barbara Walters, the death of soccer legend Pele, Christopher Dunn's fight for freedom and the arrest of Bryan Kohberger for the murders of four University of Idaho students.

NOTE: On Monday (12/26/22), "Nightline" and CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" were coded as a special due to the Christmas holiday. "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "Late Late Show-JC-ENC" from Tuesday thru Friday, and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM" due to being repeats. The retitled telecasts are excluded from the season averages. ABC's and CBS' weekly averages are based on four days (Tuesday-Friday).

It is anchored by Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Eman Varoqua is executive producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35 p.m.-1:05 a.m. EST on ABC.
