RECOVERY ROAD (ABC Family; W: Bert V. Royal & Karen DiConcetto; D: Lawrence Trilling) - Kyla Pratt and Justin Prentice have both scored roles on the drama pilot, about Maddie (Samantha Logan), who has reputation as a party girl who doesn't think she has a problem, until she's confronted one day by her school guidance counselor and forced to choose between expulsion and rehab. Trying to save face, Maddie chooses to spend her nights living with other recovering addicts at a rehab facility, and her days pretending everything is perfectly normal among her high school classmates and her closest friends. Pratt will play Trish Collins, "Maddie's roommate at the rehab facility"; with Prentice as Dallas, "the uber-popular, devious and Machiavellian yet sentimental high school bad boy." (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - TBS has passed on its comedy pilot "Living the Dream," about a former "most likely to succeed" star student (Jake Sandvig) who returns to his hometown after losing his job (Deadline.com); TNT has likewise passed on its drama pilot "Guilt by Association" while discussions are underway about retooling the Sharon Stone-led "Agent X" (Deadline.com); Daniel Sharman is bound for season two of "The Originals" as "the handsome, devilish and charming new witch in the French Quarter's coven" (EOline.com); HGTV has decided not to move forward with the Benham Brothers' series "Flip It Forward" (@HGTV); and Amy Paffrath has been tapped to host VH1's new reality series "Dating Naked" (Deadline.com).
