MIKE FLORIO TO HOST "PRIME NUMBERS" SERIES ON PRO FOOTBALL TALK ON NBCSN

Series to Celebrate Most Influential Players to Wear Each NFL Jersey Number

Series Debuts Monday, June 2 at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN

NBCSN, ProFootballTalk.com, NBC Sports Regional Networks & NBC Sports Social Media Will All Present Series Content

STAMFORD, CONN. - May 29, 2014 - Pro Football Talk, NBCSN's daily NFL show co-hosted by Mike Florio and Erik Kuselias, is creating a series - "Prime Numbers" - to determine and celebrate the most influential players in the history of the NFL to wear each jersey number (1-99). Multiple NBC Sports Group platforms, including NBCSN, ProFootballTalk.com, NBC Sports Regional Networks, and NBC Sports' social media assets, will participate in the series.

Coverage begins with Pro Football Talk on Monday, June 2 at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and continues through July 3. Over the course of 24 episodes, Florio, Kuselias, regular Pro Football Talk analysts and guests related to the day's highlighted numbers will discuss and debate the most valuable players for each jersey number. Featured guests are expected to include Rodney Harrison, Hines Ward, Tony Dungy, Warren Moon, Adam Vinatieri, Tim Brown and Torry Holt. In addition to celebrating the greatest players to wear each number, Pro Football Talk will also highlight the all-time memorable moments and bloopers associated with specific numbers. Fans will also have the opportunity to participate in the conversation by voting on select numbers on ProFootballTalk.com.

"Players joining new teams often pay good money to get the numbers they want. Sometimes, they arm wrestle punters for them," said Florio, the creator of Pro Football Talk and ProFootballTalk.com. "So who wore each number the best? It's an important debate. Especially in June, when NFL news tends to slow down a little. In fact, our only other viable option was to televise arm-wrestling matches against punters."

Pro Football Talk's "Prime Numbers" series kicks off with segments devoted to the historic number 81. Among the greats to wear the number are Tim Brown, Art Monk, and Terrell Owens. The series concludes on July 3 with numbers 39 and 44. Throughout the series, Pro Football Talk will devote an entire segment to multiple historic numbers per day. The segments will include features, specialty graphics, analyst debate, and guest interviews of Hall of Fame players to wear the specific numbers being discussed. The show will also celebrate noteworthy facts and figures including "most common Super Bowl MVP number", "best NFL players currently wearing number 52", and "most penalized number."

In addition to content on NBCSN and ProFootballTalk.com, NBC Sports Regional Networks will devote "Prime Numbers" coverage to the iconic numbers worn by players for the teams in their respective markets.

The "Prime Numbers" series will have a presence on the NBC Sports and Sunday Night Football Facebook pages. The individual Facebook pages will also include fan polls for each number. The @NBCSports, @ProFootballTalk, @PFTonNBCSN, and @SNFonNBC Twitter accounts will also engage fans with news, information and updates.

In 2013, Pro Football Talk presented "Faces of the Franchise; Who's on Your Team's Mount Rushmore?" which determined the four most influential people in the history of each NFL team. The series celebrated each team's all-time best, from among players, coaches, owners and executives. For a complete list, click here http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/tag/faces-of-the-franchise/
