BEYOND BLACK BEAUTY (Freevee) - Kaya Coleman, Sagine Sémajuste, Gina James and Lisa Berry are set to star in the upcoming series inspired by the beloved novel. Coleman plays Jolie Dumont and Sémajuste is set as her mother Janelle. No details were given about the other roles. (Deadline.com)
CHICAGO MED (NBC) - Co-stars Guy Lockard and Sarah Rafferty have been confirmed as exiting the series following the events of tonight's season premiere. Said installment also featured the return of Yaya DaCosta's April Sexton. (Deadline.com)
DRIVER, THE (AMC) - Emmy winner Bradley Whitford will recur on the newcomer as Anton, "the charming and intelligent face of industrial business in Louisiana who covertly heads a criminal organization. FLASH, THE (The CW) - Richard Harmon will recur as Owen Mercer during the upcoming ninth season, "a new post-Crisis Captain Boomerang has recently been released from Iron Heights with a chip on his shoulder. REACHER (Amazon) - The show's sophomore season has cast Serinda Swan as Karla Dixon; Ferdinand Kingsley as A.M.; and Rory Cochrane as Shane Langston; all series regulars, while Domenick Lombardozzi will recur as Guy Russo; with Ty Victor Olsson as Saropian; Josh Blacker as Hortense Fields; Al Sapienza as Marsh; Luke Bilyk as Calvin Franz; Dean McKenzie as Stan Lowery; Edsson Morales as Manuel Orozco; Andres Collantes as Jorge Sanchez; and Shannon Kook-Chun as Tony Swan. RING & THE CROWN, THE (Disney+, New!) - Aaron Harberts and Gretchen J. Berg are spearheading a TV incarnation of Melissa de la Cruz's YA fantasy novel "set in an Arthurian world in which magic exists. It centers on Princess Marie-Victoria, the heir to the mightiest empire in the world, who is being forced into a political marriage, and her dear friend Aelwyn Myrddyn, the bastard daughter of Merlin, who is being forced into service of the crown. The Annual London Season is just beginning, and as noble families from across the globe are gathering to flaunt their wealth and magic at lavish parties, behind the scenes, Marie-Victoria, Aelwyn, and others are making moves to secure political power, true love, and their futures." ROLLIN' (HBO Max, New!) - Calaya Michelle Stallworth has sold a single-camera comedy to the streamer which centers on "an easily corruptible newbie skater and her ragtag rink crew who find drive and deliverance on the hardwood at an ATL skating rink known for its good music, food, vibes and stellar stunts. They soon discover that walking away from your past is easier said than done - but as all skaters learn, when you fall down, you must get back up." Lena Waithe, Rishi Rajani, Naomi Funabashi, Pharrell Williams and Mimi Valdés will also executive produce for Hillman Grad Productions, i am OTHER and Warner Bros. SCANNERS (HBO, New!) - Writer William Bridges and director Yann Demange are set to team for a small screen take on David Cronenberg's 1981 horror cult classic which "will focus on two women living on the fringes of modern society who are pursued by relentless agents with unimaginable powers and thus must learn to work together to topple a vast conspiracy determined to bring them to heel." All three will executive produce alongside Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer of Media Res Studio and Meredith Duff and Sarah Sullivan of Wayward Films as well as René and Fanny-Laure Malo, Pierre David, Clark Peterson and Aaron Gilbert.
