CBS PLACES FIRST IN VIEWERS FOR THE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE WEEK

Network Is Also First in Adults 25-54 For the Second Straight Week

"NCIS" and "The Unit" Place in the Top 10 Against Strong Competition

"The Amazing Race 9" Delivers CBS's Highest Rating In the Wednesday 8-9 PM Time Period Among Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 Since March 2003

CBS placed first in viewers for the fourth consecutive week and first in adults 25-54 for the second straight week, according to Nielsen ratings for the week ending April 9, week 29 of the 2005-2006 television season.

CBS had five of the Top 10 programs including NCIS and THE UNIT, both of which faced strong competition against "American Idol" and "House."

For the week in viewers, CBS (12.40m) topped FOX (9.92m), NBC (9.32m) and ABC (8.08m). Season-to-date, CBS (12.66m) leads, followed by ABC (11.18m), NBC (9.93m) and FOX (9.79m).

For the week in households, CBS (8.2/13) was +33% ahead of both FOX and NBC (6.1/10, each) and +56% ahead of ABC (5.2/09). Season-to-date, CBS is first in households (8.2/13), outpacing ABC by +15% (7.1/11), NBC by +26% (6.5/10) and FOX by +37% (6.0/10)..

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.6/12) and second in adults 18-49 (3.6/10). Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and trails FOX by just -0.1 and ABC by -0.2 in adults 18-49 (3.9/10).

� NCIS was second in households (10.0/16), viewers (15.52m), adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and adults 18-49 (3.5/10). NCIS beat NBC and ABC combined in households (vs. 5.8/09, +72%), viewers (vs. 8.69m, +79%), adults 25-54 (vs. 3.5/08, +40%) and adults 18-49 (vs. 2.9/08, +21%).

� THE UNIT was second in households (9.9/15), viewers (15.44m), adults 25-54 (5.9/13) and adults 18-49 (4.3/11). THE UNIT beat NBC and ABC combined in households (vs. 6.2/10, +60%), viewers (vs. 9.13m, +69%), adults 25-54 (vs. 4.3/09, +37%) and adults 18-49 (vs. 3.9/10, +10%). THE UNIT built on its NCIS lead by +20% in adults 25-54, +23% in adults 18-49 and +29% in adults 18-49.

� THE AMAZING RACE 9 (P) (4.9/08, 8.15m) delivered CBS's highest rating in the time period among adults 18-34 (2.4/08), adults 18-49 (3.1/09) and adults 25-54 (3.8/10) with regularly-scheduled programming since March 12, 2003 ("Star Search"). Compared to last week's performance of CBS's two comedies in the time period, THE AMAZING RACE 9 was up +20% in households (from 4.1/06), +81% in adults 25-54 (from 2.1/05), +94% in adults 18-49 (from 1.6/04), +118% in adults 18-34 (from 1.1/03) while adding +2.19m viewers (from 5.96m, +37%).

� SURVIVOR: PANAMA -- EXILE ISLAND was first in households (9.6/16), viewers (16.36m), adults 25-54 (6.8/18), adults 18-49 (5.6/17) and adults 18-34 (3.6/12).

� CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (14.7/23), viewers (23.33m), adults 25-54 (9.4/22), adults 18-49 (7.4/19) and adults 18-34 (4.8/14).

� WITHOUT A TRACE (R) was first in households (10.4/17), viewers (15.24m), adults 25-54 (5.7/14) and adults 18-49 (4.5/12).

� GHOST WHISPERER was first in households (6.9/13), viewers (10.69m), adults 25-54 (4.3/13) and adults 18-49 (3.1/11).

� CLOSE TO HOME was first in households (7.3/12), viewers (10.85m), adults 25-54 (3.9/10) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (2.7/08, with ABC).

� NUMB3RS was first in households (8.8/16), viewers (13.69m), adults 25-54 (5.3/14), adults 18-49 (3.8/11) and adults 18-34 (2.6/09). NUMB3RS posted its second best adults 18-34 delivery ever (behind the 1/28/05 time period premiere), matched the second best delivery in adults 25-54, matched the 3rd best delivery in households and adults 19-49 and scored the third best delivery in viewers.

� MASTERS GOLF TOURNAMENT SUNDAY (S) from 7:00-7:46PM posted a 10.4/20 with 15.81m viewers.

� 60 MINUTES (7:46-8:46PM) delivered a 9.3/16 with 14.17m viewers, 4.3/11 in adults 25-54 and 3.2/09 in adults 18-49.

� NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME "UCLA vs. Florida" (S) (9:16-11:57PM) posted an 11.2/18 in households with 17.54m viewers, 7.1/16 in adults 25-54, 9.2/22 in men 25-54, 6.2/16 in adults 18-49, 8.0/21 in men 18-49, 5.5/16 in adults 18-34 and 7.1/21 in men 18-34. CBS led the 9-11PM time period in households, viewers and key adult and men demos. Nielsen Media Research reports that 37.9m viewers watched all or part of Monday's game. 128.5m viewers watched all or part of the Tournament on CBS this year.
