WEEK No. 22:

During the week of February 15, 2010, which included the first full week of the Vancouver Winter Olympics, ABC aired 4 of the Top 15 TV shows in Adults 18-49 (4 of the Top 8 non-Olympic programs), including the Top 3 scripted series: "Lost" No. 11 (No. 1 scripted series), "The Bachelor" No. 12, with "Grey's Anatomy" and "Desperate Housewives" tied at No. 14 (tied as No. 2 scripted series). In fact "Lost" has been the TV's No. 1 scripted series in Adults 18-49 on 2 of the last 3 weeks and for 3 consecutive weeks in Adults 18-34. For the 3rd week in a row, "Grey's" registered as the top-rated scripted program with key Women (W18-34/W18-49).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 36% currently, from 30% at the same point in 2009. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
