CBS SPORTS CONTINUES TO SCORE WITH "SEC ON CBS" RATINGS

Epic Iron Bowl Delivers Most-Watched College Football Game to Date of 2013 Season

CBS Sports' coverage of the SEC ON CBS on Saturday, Nov. 30, which saw Auburn defeat Alabama in an epic Iron Bowl (3:30-7:35 PM, ET), was the most watched college football game to date of the 2013 season, averaging 13.8 million viewers (Persons 2+). The Iron Bowl earned an average preliminary national household rating/share of 8.2/17, up 242% from last year's game (2.4/5), according to Nielsen.

The 8.2/17 for Auburn-Alabama is the second highest-rated college football game of the 2013 season, behind CBS Sports' coverage of Alabama-Texas A&M (8.6/19; 9/14/13).

Overall, the SEC ON CBS has the top three-rated and most-watched college football games of the season:

1. Auburn-Alabama (11/30/13) - 8.2/17, 13.8 million viewers

2. Alabama-Texas A&M (9/14/13) - 8.6/19, 13.7 million viewers

3. Alabama-LSU (11/9/13) - 6.9/12, 11.9 million viewers

Through 12 weeks of the 2013 SEC ON CBS season, CBS Sports is averaging a national household rating/share of 4.2/9. The 4.2/9 is the highest-rating for SEC football games on CBS at this point in the season since the Network began airing primarily an SEC-only schedule in 2001.
