Live + 7 Day Ratings: ABC's "Resurrection" Scores Its Biggest Playback Gains Yet, Jumping 60% in Adults 18-49 in L+7

Live + 7 Day Ratings for the week of 3/17/14 (Week #26):

Please note: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was pre-empted this week, while most of ABC's Wednesday line-up (including Modern Family and Nashville) were in repeats.

ABC claimed 5 of the week's 10 biggest broadcast gainers in TV playback among Adults 18-49 (the most for any network), including the #1 biggest gainer: Grey's Anatomy (+1.9 rating points) - #1, Resurrection (+1.5 rating points) and Scandal (+1.5 rating points) tied at #3, Castle (+1.3 rating points) - #7 and Once Upon a Time (+1.2 rating points) - #8.

The third episode of ABC's Resurrection saw bigger percentage increases in TV Playback than its second episode, marking its largest playback increases yet. From the Live + Same Day to the Live + 7 Day numbers, Resurrection's Total Viewer count grew by 42% in Total Viewers (vs. 38% the prior week and 29% for the premiere) from 9.5 million to 13.5 million and jumped 60% in Adults 18-49 (vs. 48% the prior week and 39% for the premiere) from a 2.5 rating to a 4.0 rating.

Growing more than 70% over their Live + Same day ratings, both Castle (+72%) and Grey's Anatomy (+79%) earned their 2nd-biggest playback gains this season among Adults 18-49. In addition, Revenge scored its best playback increase so far in its new 10pm time period with Adults 18-49, growing 67% over its L+SD rating.

In the final Live + 7 numbers, Shark Tank delivered its most-watched telecast ever with 9.8 million viewers.

Based on TV playback data for the 2013-14 season, ABC continues to claim the most Top 10 playback gainers of any broadcast network in Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers. ABC has 5 of the season's Top 10 in TV playback among young adults: Modern Family (+2.0 rating points) - #2, Grey's Anatomy (+1.8 rating points) - #4, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.6 rating points) and Scandal (+1.6 rating points) tied at #5 and Resurrection (+1.4 rating points) - #8. ABC also has 5 of the 10 biggest overall gainers: Castle (+4.40 million) - #5, Modern Family (+4.38 million) - #6, Resurrection (+4.1 million) - #7, Grey's (+4.0 million) - #8 and Scandal (+3.9 million) - #9.

Nearly all of ABC's key returning series are seeing bigger percentage gains among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: The Bachelor (+24% vs. +22%), Castle (+60% vs. +50%), Dancing with the Stars (+19% vs. +13%), Grey's Anatomy (+64% vs. +55%), Last Man Standing (+46% vs. +33%), Modern Family (+56% vs. +49%), Nashville (+80% vs. +63%), The Neighbors (+33% vs. +17%), Once Upon a Time (+55% vs. +41%), Revenge (+63% vs. +48%), Scandal (+53% vs. +38%) and Shark Tank (+30% vs. +21%).

· Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is Tuesday's #1 scripted show this season with Adults 18-49 based on original telecasts, beating CBS' NCIS (4.2 rating vs. 4.1 rating). Based on first-run telecasts in the L+7 Adult 18-49 ratings, ABC claims the season's #1 scripted show on Tuesday (S.H.I.E.L.D. - 4.2), the #1 show on Wednesday (Modern Family - 5.6), the #1 dramas on Thursday (Grey's and Scandal tied - 4.6) and the #2 show on Friday (with Shark Tank within 1-tenth of a rating point of NBC's Grimm - 2.6 vs. 2.7).

· Modern Family is the season's #2 scripted series among Adults 18-49 on the broadcast networks (5.6 rating).
