ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Grows by Double-Digits to Its Best Week Since Mid-March in Viewers and Adults 18-49

Some early points on Jimmy Kimmel Live's numbers, ahead of the regular press release:

During the week of 4/28/14, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live grew by double-digits over last week in Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 18-49 (+19%) to deliver its strongest week of originals since mid-March - since the weeks of 3/10/14 and 3/17/14, respectively. (Note: JKL regularly airs repeats on Friday).

In addition, JKL posted gains over the same week last year (w/o 4/29/13) in Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 18-49 (+5%).

· ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live ranked as the week's #2 talk show in late-night on broadcast and cable among Adults 18-49.

· JKL beat CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman by 23% in Adults 18-49 and ran neck-and-neck with the CBS late-night program in Total Viewers (with fewer than 100k Viewers separating the two programs). JKL has outdelivered Letterman in 30 of the 32 weeks of the season in the young adult demo.

ABC Late-Night (Monday - Friday)

With its late-night lineup of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. and "Nightline" at 12:35 a.m. during the week of April 28, 2014, ABC was the most-watched network in late-night (2.439 million) for the 3rd week in a row, outdrawing NBC by 5% (2.333 million) and CBS by 15% (2.119 million).

· ABC shot up week to week by 12% in Total Viewers (2.439 million vs. 2.173 million) and by 17% in Adults 18-49 (756,000 vs. 647,000).

· The Net was up over the year-ago week (2.175 million and 721,000 on w/o 4/29/13) for the 2nd week in a row in Total Viewers (+12%) and grew by 5% in Adults 18-49.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" (M-F 11:35 p.m.)

During the week of April 28, 2014, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" grew by double-digits over last week in Total Viewers (+12% - 2.777 million vs. 2.487 million) and Adults 18-49 (+19% - 862,000 vs. 727,000) to deliver its strongest week of originals since mid-March - since the weeks of 3/10/14 and 3/17/14, respectively. (Note: "JKL" regularly airs repeats on Friday).

In addition, "JKL" posted gains over the same week last year (2.471 million and 820,000 on w/o 4/29/13) in Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 18-49 (+5%).

· ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" ranked as the week's No. 2 talk show in late-night on broadcast and cable among Adults 18-49 (862,000).

· "JKL" beat CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman" by 23% in Adults 18-49 (862,000 vs. 698,000) and ran neck-and-neck with the CBS late-night program in Total Viewers (with fewer than 100,000 Viewers separating the two programs - 2.777 million vs. 2.838 million). "JKL" has outdelivered "Letterman" in 30 of the 32 weeks of the season in the young adult demo.

"Nightline" (M-F 12:35 a.m.)

ABC News' "Nightline" drew 1.774 million Total Viewers, 746,000 Adults 25-54 and 548,000 Adults 18-49 for the week of April 28, 2014, according to Nielsen Media Research. The ABC late-night program ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 3rd straight week and 4th time in the last 5 weeks. "Nightline" led NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" by 77,000 viewers and CBS' "The Late Late Show" by 354,000 viewers. In addition, "Nightline" beat NBC's "Late Night" by its largest Total Viewer advantage ever during a week of original telecasts.

"Nightline" saw double-digit gains week to week (1.559 million, 635,000 and 490,000 on w/o 4/21/14) in Total Viewers (+14%), Adults 25-54 (+17%) and Adults 18-49 (+12%). In fact, "Nightline" scored a season high in Total Viewers, drawing its largest overall audience in nearly 1 year - since w/o 5/6/13. Further, "Nightline" saw its best news demo performance since December - since w/o 12/16/13.

For the 3rd time in the last 4 weeks, "Nightline" was up across-the-board compared to the same week last year (1.558 million, 690,000 and 512,000 on w/o 4/29/13) in Total Viewers (+14%), Adults 25-54 (+8%) and Adults 18-49 (+7%).

For the 3rd consecutive week, "Nightline" aired the No. 1 telecast of the week in Total Viewers (2.076 million on Monday, 4/28/14), beating all of the week's telecasts of NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" and CBS' "The Late Late Show."
