NBC Records Its Most-Watched Sunday of Entertainment Series Programming in Nearly Six Years

Tom Hanks-Narrated "The Americas" Is Most-Watched Nature Doc on Linear in More Than 15 Years With 6.7 Million Viewers and Top 7 P.M. and 8 P.M. Entertainment Series on NBC in Seven Years

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Feb. 28, 2025 - With all three shows produced in-house by Universal Studio Group, NBC successfully launched a record-breaking new night of original entertainment programming as the premieres of "The Americas," "Suits LA" and "Grosse Pointe Garden Society" set a record as the most-watched Sunday night of entertainment programming nearly six years.

The three shows have reached 15 million viewers (L3) following their debuts on Sunday, Feb. 23.

Including NBC, Peacock and the NBCUniversal cable networks - Bravo, E!, SYFY, USA and CNBC - the premiere episode of "The Americas" amassed 6.7 million viewers (L3)and stands as the most-watched nature documentary on linear television in more than 15 years. While nature documentaries have thrived on cable and public broadcasting during this time, they've been largely absent from the major broadcast networks until now.

The 6.7 million viewers on for its 7 p.m. episode and 6.1 million for the 8 p.m. episode, it's the best 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. timeslot performance for an entertainment series on NBC in nearly seven years.

On NBC and across Peacock, both "Suits LA" and "Grosse Pointe Garden Society" saw impressive gains vs. their linear telecasts. They both jumped nearly 2X in total viewers (+87%/+90%) and more than 3X in the 18-49 demo (+213%/+216%).

NBC was also the #1 most-social primetime network on Sunday, based on social interactions across ad-supported broadcast and cable television. There were more than 61 million social engagements for "Suits LA" over the course of the night. In addition, Spotify curated a special "Suits LA" playlist to coincide with the launch of the show.

All three series return this Sunday, March 2 on NBC, starting with two episodes of "The Americas" at 7 p.m. ("The Wild West") and 8 p.m. ("The Amazon"), "Suits LA" at 9 p.m. ("Old Man Hanrahan") and "Grosse Pointe Garden Society" at 10 p.m. ("Pests").

Each show is available the next day on Peacock.
