In Total Viewers (8.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.4/7), ABC turned in its best numbers in 4 weeks since w/o 3/23/09.
Rankings: ABC claimed 6 of the Top 20 TV shows during the week in Adults 18-49, placing 3 of the Top 4 highest-rated shows and the Top 2 scripted series: "Grey's Anatomy" No. 3 (No. 1 scripted), "Desperate Housewives" (No. 2 scripted) and "Dancing with the Stars" tied at No. 4, "Private Practice" No. 15, "DWTS Results" No. 16 and "Brothers & Sisters" No. 19. The Net aired 4 of the Top 8 most-watched television programs overall: "DWTS" No. 3, "DWTS Results" No. 4, "Desperate Housewives" No. 7 and "Grey's Anatomy" No. 8. On its first original airing in 4 weeks, ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" emerged as the No. 2 TV show with Women 18-34, topping Fox's "American Idol-Tuesday." A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 31% currently, from 24% at the same point in 2008. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
