Live+7 Ratings: ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" Leads in DVR Gains, Emerging as TV's #1 Drama of the Week

Live+7 Day Ratings for the week of 10/24/11 (Week #6):

Based on Nielsen's final ratings for the week, ABC's Grey's Anatomy emerged as TV's #1 drama in Adults 18-49 (5.3 rating), moving ahead of CBS' NCIS (5.2) and NCIS: Los Angeles (4.6). Initially in the Live + Same Day statistics, Grey's Anatomy tied NCIS: Los Angeles as TV's #3 drama for the week in the young adult demo, both behind NCIS and ABC's Once Upon a Time. In addition, Disney-owned Once Upon a Time (5.0) and Revenge (3.8) solidified their ranks as TV's top 2 freshman dramas among young adults. In fact, with Grey's Anatomy and Once Upon a Time, ABC claimed 2 of the top 3 dramas overall for the week in Adults 18-49.

· Based on Nielsen's DVR playback data for the week, Grey's Anatomy registered as TV's biggest gainer via time-shifted viewing in Adults 18-49 (+1.6 rating points), while Once Upon a Time and Revenge were the two biggest new drama gainers in the young adult demo as both freshman series picked up an additional 1.1 rating points each.

· A total of 7 of ABC's series gained at least 2.0 million viewers on average from their initially reported totals via time-shifted viewing: Grey's Anatomy (+3.14 million), Castle (+3.07 million), Body of Proof (+2.72 million), Revenge (+2.51 million), Once Upon a Time (+2.36 million), Private Practice (+2.07 million) and Desperate Housewives (+2.00 million).

· Among Adults 18-49, 7 of ABC's series registered substantial ratings increases of 8-tenths of a ratings point or more: Grey's Anatomy - top gainer overall (+1.6 rating - 3.7 to 5.3), Once Upon a Time (+1.1 rating - 3.9 to 5.0), Revenge (+1.1 rating - 2.7 to 3.8), Private Practice (+1.0 rating - 2.4 to 3.4), Castle (+0.9 rating - 2.4 to 3.3), Desperate Housewives (+0.9 rating - 3.1 to 4.0), and Pan Am (+0.8 rating - 1.8 to 2.6).

Season-to-Date DVR Playback:

On average for the 2011-12 season, ABC's Modern Family and Grey's Anatomy are the season's Top 2 biggest gainers among Adults 18-49 (picking up 2.3 rating points and 1.6 rating points, respectively), while the ABC sitcom is also the season's biggest overall gainer among Total Viewers (+4.60 million).
