ABC's "Wipeout" and "Rookie Blue" Post Adult 18-49 Increases

Despite airing against NFL on NBC from 8-10pm, ABC's Wipeout increased the Net's performance week to week in Adults 18-49 by 38%, matching ABC's strongest non-sports performance in the time-slot among young adults in 3 months - since 5/30/13.

Opposite NFL on NBC, ABC's Rookie Blue improved on its Adult 18-49 delivery over the prior week by 11%. In addition, Rookie Blue ranked as the #1 series in its time period for the 9th consecutive week among Total Viewers. On average, Rookie Blue is up 10% summer to summer in Total Viewers, marking its most-watched season in 3 years - since Summer 2010.

"Rookie Blue" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

Opposite NFL on NBC, ABC's "Rookie Blue" improved on its Adult 18-49 delivery over the prior week by 11% (1.0/3 vs. 0.9/3). In addition, "Rookie Blue" ranked as the No. 1 series in its time period for the 9th consecutive week among Total Viewers (4.2 million).

· On average, "Rookie Blue" is up 10% summer to summer in Total Viewers (6.7 million vs. 6.1 million), marking its most-watched season in 3 years - since Summer 2010.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 48% currently, from 45% at the same point in 2012. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next-day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
