ABC NEWS' 'NIGHTLINE' IS NO. 1 ACROSS THE BOARD IN ALL KEY TARGET DEMOS

'Nightline' Turns In Double-Digit Growth Over Previous Week, Posting Strongest Numbers in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 in 5 Months, Plus Delivers Its Best Adults 18-49 Performance in 6 Months

Season to Date, 'Nightline' Grows in Total Viewers and Leads CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' in All Key Target Demos

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (923,000), Adults 25-54 (243,000) and Adults 18-49 (184,000) during the week of June 5, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" finished No. 1, beating CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the 5th week running.

"Nightline" turned in a double-digit increase from the previous week in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+23% - 923,000 vs. 738,000), Adults 25-54 (+32% - 243,000 vs. 184,000) and Adults 18-49 (+39% - 184,000 vs. 132,000). "Nightline" posted its strongest numbers in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 in 5 months and delivered its best Adults 18-49 performance in 6 months ― since weeks of 1/23/23, 1/16/23 and 12/19/22, respectively.

On Wednesday (6/7/23), "Nightline" turned in its strongest telecast in Adults 18-49 (343,000) in 9 months and best in Total Viewers (1.170 million) and Adults 25-54 (403,000) in 5 months ― 9/19/22 and 1/16/23, respectively.

Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+3% - 900,000 vs. 875,000). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos.

During this week, "Nightline" covered ABC News' exclusive broadcast interview with Elliot Page; political fallout as Donald Trump faces indictment for the second time; Ben Platt taking on the role of Leo Frank in the revival of Broadway's "Parade"; concerns over serious health condition that are possibly linked to prolonged marijuana use; the potential risks of laser hair removal; Apple's unveiling of the Vision Pro headset; TLC's new documentary "TLC Forever"; the arrest of Boston rapes suspect and more.

NOTE: CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "The Late Late Show-JC-ENC" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM." The retitled telecasts are excluded from the season averages.
