DESCRIPTION:
(from The CW's press release) Country music legend and Broadway star Reba McEntire made her first foray into series television in this edgy comedy that takes aim at the all-American family with a spirited look at suburban dysfunction. Now beginning its sixth season, the series began with the Hart family in the midst of a divorce as Texas soccer mom Reba (McEntire) watched her white-picket-fenced world collapse before her very eyes. Her dentist husband, Brock (Christopher Rich, "Murphy Brown"), left her after what she thought were 20 happy years of marriage for his impossibly perky and unfortunately pregnant dental hygienist, Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman, "Fargo"). Reba's strength was tested yet again with the pregnancy of her then-17-year-old daughter Cheyenne (JoAnna Garcia, "Party of Five") who decided to marry her boyfriend, high school football star, Van (Steve Howey, "Supercross"). All this upheaval made for a rocky transition period for second daughter Kyra (Scarlett Pomers, "Star Trek: Voyager"), who moved in with Brock and Barbra Jean. Reba still finds herself in the middle of Brock and Barbra Jean's marriage. Despite her best efforts to keep them at arm's length, they always manage to involve Reba in their ongoing troubles. This season, a new and improved Barbra Jean has been transformed by a drastic weight loss and will become the weather girl at a local television station. Barbara Jean's fabulous new look brings out Brock's insecurities, causing new problems in their marriage. Now partners with Reba in a real estate business, Van builds a home office for them in the garage, but Reba has a difficult time keeping business and family separate. Their relationship is challenged even further when the top real estate firm in town tries to lure Van away. Among the many changes for Cheyenne and Van this season is their decision to take the plunge and get their own place. With Cheyenne and her family moving out, Reba is thrilled to learn that Kyra, who is still pursuing her music career, has decided to move back in. However, Reba is surprised to discover that Kyra has picked up more than a few bad habits during her time with Brock and Barbra Jean. To add to the family drama, Reba also has to confront the challenges of her youngest, Jake (Mitch Holleman, "Daddio"), who is now in the throes of adolescence. Through all the changes - not to mention the family members moving back and forth between households - this blended family will continue to muddle through with humor, love and optimism as they have always done. "Reba" was created by Allison M. Gibson ("Home Improvement," "Boy Meets World"). Executive producers are Kevin Abbott ("Roseanne"), Mindy Schultheis ("Titus"), Michael Hanel ("Titus"), Matt Berry ("Roseanne"), Don Beck, Pat Bullard, Chris Case and Reba McEntire for Twentieth Century Fox Television and Acme Productions.
